Dr. Angela Priede provides psychological assessment and therapy services to adults and couples. She works with a range of concerns, including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression and mood difficulties, body-focused repetitive behaviours, emotion regulation difficulties, trauma and post-traumatic stress, and stress related to significant life transitions. She also has particular interests in interpersonal and relationship difficulties, intimacy and sexuality-related concerns, complex trauma, and women’s mental health.
Dr. Priede’s approach is client-centered, collaborative, and evidence-based. She strives to create a therapeutic environment in which clients feel genuinely understood, respected, and supported while developing a clearer understanding of the experiences and patterns contributing to their difficulties. Treatment is tailored to each client’s needs, strengths, preferences, and goals and may involve developing practical coping and emotion-regulation skills, exploring and challenging unhelpful patterns and beliefs, strengthening boundaries and communication, and working through difficult experiences. In her work with couples, Dr. Priede draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy and other evidence-based approaches to help partners better understand patterns of conflict and disconnection, improve communication, and develop greater emotional safety, trust, and connection.
In addition to individual and couples therapy, Dr. Priede provides diagnostic assessments to adults seeking greater clarity about psychological symptoms or concerns affecting their well-being and daily functioning. She also provides clinical supervision and consultation to professionals and trainees, with an emphasis on case formulation, treatment planning, clinical skill development, and the thoughtful integration of evidence-based practice.
Dr. Priede earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Ottawa. She has provided psychological services to individuals, couples, and groups in hospital-based and private-practice settings since 2015. Her graduate research examined experiences of sexuality in mid and later life, contributing to her ongoing professional interest in relationships, intimacy, sexuality, and life transitions. Across her clinical work, she aims to help clients develop greater self-understanding, resilience, confidence, and connection while working toward changes that are meaningful and sustainable in their everyday lives.
