Dr. Mariami Bimm is a psychologist in supervised practice providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment to children, adolescents, and adults. She also works closely with parents and caregivers in supporting their families’ needs.
Dr. Bimm brings a warm, genuine, and collaborative approach to her work with clients. She conducts psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessments, with a focus on assessing and providing support for learning challenges, ADHD, and autism. In therapy, she supports clients in addressing a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, mood-related difficulties, OCD, trauma, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges. Dr. Bimm’s approach to treatment is integrative, focusing primarily on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) techniques, while also incorporating a person-centered framework. Drawing on her background in lifespan development, she adopts an attachment-informed lens to conceptualize clients’ concerns. She deeply values providing care that is culturally sensitive, individually tailored, and strengths-based.
Dr. Bimm received her MASc in Developmental Psychology from the University of Waterloo, and her MA and PhD in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University in Toronto, Canada. She has trained and worked in school, community, and hospital-based settings, including the York Catholic District School Board, Oshawa Psychological & Counselling Services, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre’s Intensive OCD Treatment Program, and the York University Psychology Clinic. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Centre for Psychological Services and Research (CPSR) at the University of Ottawa, and at Kanata Psychology & Counselling Centre.
Dr. Bimm offers virtual and in-person treatment and assessment services to clients in Ontario. She is a psychologist in supervised practice registered with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario, working under the supervision of Dr. Jacob Kaiserman, C.Psych. and Dr. Kelly Weegar, C.Psych.
