As a therapist, my approach to counselling and psychotherapy is deeply rooted in authenticity, collaboration, and connection. I believe that the therapeutic journey is most effective when built on a foundation of genuine trust, and mutual respect. I work with individual adults and couples with a particular interest in supporting those facing life-altering or terminal illnesses, healthcare workers, and trans and nonbinary folks.
Specializing in trauma, grief, and the nuanced emotional landscapes surrounding illness, death, and dying, my focus is on providing compassionate care that addresses the unique needs of each individual. My hope is for you to walk away from our work together feeling hopeful, and secure in your ability to move forward with a stronger sense of self.
I work with a number of approaches to therapy such as emotions-focused, narrative, self-compassion, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, to name a few. I offer an individually-tailored experience, working with you to figure out and attend to your own needs and priorities.
Together, we will work towards understanding your experiences, building coping strategies, and fostering a renewed sense of hope and self-assurance. Your journey towards healing and growth is at the heart of our work together, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
Currently, I provide services virtually by video or phone. More information about my practice and services can be found here: oliverhealeycounsellingpsychotherapy.com
