Dr. Jacob Kaiserman provides psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, grief, difficulty adjusting to life’s changes, and interpersonal conflict. He also provides therapy to help couples work towards a more intimate, stable relationship as well as helping with parenting skills and conflict resolution.
Dr. Kaiserman’s theoretical orientation is best described as integrative, combining cognitive-behavioral techniques with a person-centered focus and an awareness of existential concerns. He believes that a successful experience in therapy includes a strong therapeutic relationship, psychoeducation, evidence-based treatments, and a collaborative effort. Dr. Kaiserman works with his clients to develop the skills, awareness and motivation to move forward with their lives in a more meaningful way.
Prior to moving to Ottawa, Dr. Kaiserman received his Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Kaiserman is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. In support of the profession, he also maintains memberships in provincial and local psychological associations. He keeps up to date on current developments in the field of Psychology by regularly attending relevant workshops and lectures.
